SC trooper was hit by vehicle while assisting with traffic stop, SCDPS says

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A trooper with the South Carolina Highway Patrol is recovering Sunday after being injured by a vehicle along I-77 in Richland County.

Heather Biance, director of public affairs for the state’s Department of Public Safety, said Senior Trooper Mitchell Williams, Jr. (Troop 1 Post D – Richland) was assisting another trooper with a traffic stop on I-77 around midnight Sunday.
