Midlands woman wins $1 million after initially walking away from second lottery ticket

A Midlands woman who almost walked away from a second lottery ticket ended up winning $1 million after changing her mind.

She told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that she originally planned to buy two scratch-off tickets at the J and S Food Mart on Forest Drive in Columbia, but asked the clerk to put one back.

After the first ticket wasn’t a winner, she went back into the store and bought the second one, which turned out to be a $1 million prize…
