COLUMBIA, S.C. — Approximately 15,000 people are expected to pack Charlie W. Johnson Stadium this weekend for the 2025 Big HBCU Battle of the Bands.
The event, set for Sunday, will bring nine marching bands from across the Southeast to Benedict College, and the Tigers say they’re ready.
“Man, I’m very excited, very excited. It’s so, so much to look for, so much working out has to go into it, so much playing, so much things to do,” Benedict drum major Trevon Gooden said. “It probably gotta look at film and see what the other bands are doing… It’s just a lot going into it, and I love it. I love every bit of it.”…
