Over 2,000 tickets handed out for move over law violations last week

(WSPA) – More than 2,000 people were ticketed in a five-day period for violating South Carolina’s Move Over Law, according to law enforcement officials.

On Monday the South Carolina Department of Public Safety released statistics from the state’s Operation Keep Us Safe initiative.

The operation was launched by the highway patrol and took place from September 15 – 19, with the aim of protecting law enforcement, first responders, tow truck drivers and others who work alongside the highway by enforcing the state’s Move Over and Hands-Free laws.
