Man who fatally shot girlfriend then went on the run is sentenced

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (TCN) — A man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for fatally shooting his girlfriend after an argument and going on the run.

According to the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, a jury convicted Alexander Harmon on Sept. 17 of murder. A judge sentenced him to life without the possibility of parole in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

On June 2, 2018, Harmon’s father reported to law enforcement that his son confessed to shooting his girlfriend, Katelin Crocker, following an argument. Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the defendant’s home, where they located him “on the porch, eating potato chips, smoking cigarettes, and drinking a beer.” Harmon reportedly told authorities that his girlfriend “was dead inside.”…
