Connor Shaw returns to Williams-Brice Stadium after health scare, inspires Gamecocks

Nearly two weeks after a scary situation at his son’s football game, South Carolina legend Connor Shaw made a celebrated return to Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday night.

Shaw was able to return home last weekend, with head coach Shane Beamer giving him a heartfelt shoutout during the Gamecocks’ matchup against Missouri. Just a week later, Shaw was back in Columbia under the lights for South Carolina’s showdown with Kentucky. Prior to kickoff, he served as the celebrity starter for the Gamecocks, drawing a loud ovation from the crowd.

During his playing career from 2011 to 2013, Shaw became one of the most beloved quarter backs in program history.
