FOREST ACRES, S.C. — The Forest Acres community came together on Friday for the “Remember and Rise” event at Gills Creek Memorial Park, marking the 10th anniversary of the “Thousand Year Flood” and the death of Forest Acres Police Officer Greg Alia.
Forest Acres was one of the hardest hit communities during the 2015 flood, where businesses, homes, and infrastructure were left in ruins.
