New mobile unit to make healthcare more accessible in Richland County

There’s a new mobile unit for the Palmetto Family Service Center in Columbia (PFSC).

A ribbon cutting ceremony happening Wednesday will officially deploy the new unit. Community members are invited to join the staff of the PFSC and PALSS, Inc., along with community leaders, for the event. It’s taking place at 3 p.m. at 2638 Two Notch Rd., Suite 108 in Columbia.

The new mobile unit is designed to advance PFSC’s motto of “Wellness without limits”. It will significantly expand access to vital health services by providing access to the following:

  • Primary care
  • Confidential testing and screening
  • Pharmacy and prescription assistance
  • Dental and optometry referrals
  • Linkages to medical care and other health-related services
