Despite state lawmakers taking action this year the change the increasing liquor liability rates, the Midlands have still seen local businesses and bars shutting down due to these high rates.
In South Carolina, the law requires establishments to carry $1 million in liquor liability insurance. Rates that have been unaffordable for many small businesses in the Columbia area.
