Finlay Park is kicking out the jams

Finlay Park has been under construction since September 2023, and the time to unveil the anticipated renovations has come. Part of the re-opening festivities will be Finlay Park’s Jam Room Music Festival, set to be held right after the park’s grand reopening ceremony on Nov. 15, from noon to 10 p.m.

Jam Room will feature 10 artists across two stages, with artists from all over the nation paired with local talent. This year’s headliners include:

  • Los Angeles band DIIV, leaders of the modern shoegaze revival whose debut Oshin earned Pitchfork’s “Best New Music” label and NME’s “Top 10 Albums of the Year.”
  • White Denim, the genre-bending rock band from Austin, TX, that has been celebrated for their musicianship and high-energy live shows.
  • Steve Ray Ladson, the America’s Got Talent standout from Hopkins, S.C., whose “Blackgrass Brothercana” sound fuses soul, country and rock.

These acts will be joined by Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band, whose “New Threats from the Soul” album earned Pitchfork’s “Best New Music” label and an 8.7 rating, as well as Sunny War, a guitar virtuoso whose percussive fingerpicking and searing lyricism bridge folk, blues and punk, and reunited cult favorite Silkworm.

Local and regional acts to take the stage include Sweetheart City, Slow Funeral, The Ectomorphs, and The Magic Purple Circle with Mr. Darion, a family storytelling and music experience which will kick off the day…
