Creative kindness keeps Midlands families fed as SNAP support shrinks

COLUMBIA, S.C. — As the loss of SNAP benefits looms, the need for food donations is growing in the Midlands. Now, churches, food pantries and community members are coming together to deliver food to those who need it most.

“It just seems like everybody got the memo at the same time,” one volunteer said. “Republican, Democrat — it doesn’t even matter. People are just like, ‘Yes, I’ll help. I’ll help.’”
