One SC Fund raises $105k in 72 hours to support SNAP recipients during Shutdown

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) – The One SC Fund has raised $105,000 to help South Carolinians who rely on SNAP benefits, which are expected to be paused on November 1 due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. The Fund opened Tuesday, October 28.

Across the state, food bank staff and volunteers are preparing for a surge in demand as families face uncertainty about how they will put meals on the table. Several organizations said they are experiencing increasing demand already.
