Newborn safely surrendered to hospital under safe haven law

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) – Officials in South Carolina said an infant was surrendered to a hospital under the state’s Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.

The South Carolina Department of Social Services said the baby was surrendered in the Upstate.

Officials said the baby was born at Spartanburg Regional Health System on Nov. 4, weighing 4 pounds 1 ounce and was 16.1 inches long…
