With freeze warning in Midlands, local homeless shelter upping its service

The Midlands is currently under a freeze warning as temperatures are expected to drop into the 20’s, and local homeless shelters are looking to do everything they can do to get as many people off the streets.

Transitions Homeless Center is at full capacity when it comes to tenants staying overnight, offering three hot meals and beds. There are also hundreds of people coming in and out during the afternoons to receive services from the shelter.

“There is no reason people need to be on the sidewalk in this cold weather, between transitions, other shelters, people can get a place to sleep, they don’t have to be on the sidewalk,” President and CEO of Transitions Homeless Center Craig Currey said…
