The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) has arrested the parent of a teenager who helped organize the Halloween bonfire event in Blythewood that ended with three minors injured by gunfire.
According to RCSD deputies, the bonfire turned violent when gunfire erupted around 10:45 p.m., injuring a 16-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl, and a 17-year-old boy who were attending the event.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Nov. 12, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said that 43-year-old Kyle Johnson, owner of the property where the bonfire was held, helped the teenagers, including his 15-year-old son, organize the bonfire and was aware that underage drinking was occurring, but took no steps to prevent the drinking or remove the alcohol…
