COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — The City of Columbia will celebrate the grand reopening of Finlay Park on Saturday.
City officials said the event began at 10 a.m. at the park’s new stage, which will serve as Columbia’s home for outdoor concerts, cultural performances, and community gatherings.
Mayor Daniel J. Rickenmann, members of the City Council, City Manager Teresa Wilson, Assistant City Manager Henry Simons, community leaders, and representatives from Mashburn Construction are scheduled to attend.
The Jam Room Music Festival will host an all-day music celebration following the ceremony.
With support from the city, Richland County, and Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union, the Jam Room Foundation is presented.
Ten artists will perform across two stages from noon to 10 p.m. The free, family-friendly event moves the festival from Main Street to the newly renovated amphitheater and event lawn.
This year’s headliners include DIIV of Los Angeles, the band White Denim of Austin, known for their high-energy, genre-blending rock, and Steve Ray Ladson of Hopkins, an America’s Got Talent standout recognized for his fusion of soul, country, and rock.
