Police investigate possible connection between gunfire at Columbia Airbnb and victim who later arrived at hospital shot

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities are trying to determine if a person who showed up to an area hospital with a gunshot wound is connected to an incident at a home reportedly operating as an Airbnb in Columbia.

The Columbia Police Department said officers were called to the 1100 block of Darlington Street, which maps show is in the Earlewood community, just before midnight following a report of gunfire. Police said they noticed property damage and collected evidence at the scene.

At some point overnight, police said a male victim came to an area hospital with a gunshot wound. Police said the victim’s injury doesn’t appear to be life-threatening, and they’re working to determine if his shooting and the incident on Darlington Street are connected…
