A full weekend of celebrations for the grand re-opening of the newly renovated Finlay Park continued Sunday with the second day of the city’s re-opening festival. The signature downtown park, once one of Columbia’s busiest public spaces, returned to life as gospel, funk, brass, and folk music echoed through downtown Columbia from the park grounds.
Thousands of residents and visitors filled the park to enjoy live performances from local and national artists, along with food trucks, family activities, and plenty of open green space to relax.
For many longtime residents, the moment felt long overdue…
