SOUTH CAROLINA — The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, along with multiple partner agencies, is searching for three children and one adult reported missing while hiking Monday evening.
The hikers called 911 around 6:50 p.m., saying they had been lost for approximately three hours. Based on the call, deputies believe the group was in the Caesars Head State Park area. A white Nissan matching the hikers’ vehicle description was found at the Raven Falls trailhead.
The missing hikers have been identified as:
- Tonda Michelin, 53
- Melody Bangs, 14
- Michael Lawton, 11
- Dale Moser, 9
At least 50 personnel are currently involved in the search, including the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, park rangers, SLED, the South Carolina National Guard, Cedar Mountain Fire Department, and Foothills Search and Rescue.
