Third Suspect Arrested in Elmwood Park Airbnb Fatal Shooting; Teen Extradited to Columbia

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at an Airbnb in Columbia, South Carolina, in the summer of 2025. Columbia Police Chief W. H. Holbrook said a 17-year-old male was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia, over the weekend and extradited to Columbia. The suspect faces charges including murder, criminal conspiracy, three counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and several weapons offenses. He is being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.

Police began investigating after responding to a report of a possible auto break-in on June 6, 2025, in the Elmwood Park neighborhood. The call was upgraded to a report of gunshots. Officers arrived at 2408 Lincoln Street and found several people with gunshot wounds. Four young people had been shot. Officers provided first aid until emergency medical services arrived.

Two other suspects were arrested in June. A 15-year-old was taken into custody on June 6 and charged with kidnapping, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and related offenses. On June 7, 18-year-old Latrell D.D. Hughey was arrested and charged with murder, armed robbery, and other offenses…
