Swedish company WiJo Pouches North America, Inc. (WiJo Pouches NA) plans to open its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Lexington County, South Carolina. The company produces modern oral pouches. It will invest $13.5 million in the new site and expects to create 170 jobs. The facility will be located at 381 Burton Road. WiJo Pouches NA will lease about 55,000 square feet for contract manufacturing of nicotine, caffeine, and functional pouches for North American brands. Production is expected to start in March 2026.
The project is a partnership with the South Carolina Department of Commerce. Local officials say the region offers a skilled workforce and strong infrastructure. Jason Giulietti, President & CEO of the Central SC Alliance, said these factors supported WiJo Pouches NA’s decision.
