On December 10, 2025, Columbia Police responded to a home on the 2300 block of Byrnes Drive. A woman was found unresponsive and was later pronounced dead by EMS. The incident happened early in the morning. Authorities began an investigation at the scene.
Police have charged Del Valle Jeronimo, who was in a relationship with the victim. He is accused of killing her with a sharp object after an argument. The Richland County Coroner’s Office is assisting and will release the victim’s name after notifying her family. Jeronimo was detained at the scene and later arrested after questioning.
