108K+ South Carolinians’ Social Security data compromised in breach

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – More than 108,000 South Carolina residents had their personal information, including Social Security numbers, compromised in a data breach, according to the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs.

700Credit, which assists dealerships across the country with consumer financing options, reported the results of an internal investigation showing that 108,829 South Carolinians in its system had certain records copied without authorization.
