Lexington approves 299-home development amid concerns over traffic and school overcrowding

LEXINGTON, S.C. — The Lexington Town Council unanimously approved an annexation along Barr Road on Monday night, bringing more than 190 acres and a planned 299-home subdivision into town limits after weeks of public debate.

The vote, taken on second and final reading following a public hearing, allows a planned Meritage Homes development to move forward under town regulations rather than county rules.
