COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A man hit and killed by a suspected DUI driver in downtown Columbia has been identified.
Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford said 29-year-old Malcolm D. Johnson died after a wreck Sunday night on the corner of Gervais and Park streets.
The suspect, Randall Miller, 29, accused of driving while impaired, reportedly ran a stoplight and hit both Johnson and Aurora Agee. Agee’s family identified her in speaking with WIS on Tuesday.
Johnson’s mother, Claudia, spoke in court during Miller’s bond hearing on Monday. She said her son was in the area getting food and pushed his girlfriend, Agee, out of the way before both were hit.
Claudia Johnson said her son’s favorite character was Batman and called him a hero for his final actions…
