Flu cases continue to rage across Georgia, South Carolina

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Georgia and South Carolina continue to show the highest flu activity levels on the CDC’s tracking website, maintaining the highest possible status on the chart.

South Carolina reported overall decreases in lab tests and flu activity, but the state remains above the baseline of 3.7 percent. Current flu activity sits at 12.7 percent.

The state reported nine flu deaths during the week of Dec. 28.

The good news is that the rate isn’t as bad for the Augusta area. The flu outbreak in the metro area is rated only as “high.”…
