18-year-old detained following road rage shooting incident in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — York police are investigating a road rage incident that escalated into a shooting Saturday morning on Alexander Love Highway near York Comprehensive High School.

According to the York Police Department, an 18-year-old man and a 72-year-old man became involved in a road-related altercation that turned into a confrontation. Police said both individuals were armed with pistols and that gunfire was exchanged.

The 72-year-old man sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. He was treated at the scene and later transported to a local hospital for further care. The 18-year-old man was detained by officers at the scene…
