Early morning Lexington County crash leaves pedestrian dead

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say a pedestrian is dead following an early morning crash in Lexington County.

Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. on Platt Springs Road near South Lake Drive, which is in the Red Bank area. Bennett said a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading west on Platt Springs Road when it struck the pedestrian, who was in the road.

Bennett said the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver and passenger in the SUV were unharmed…
