SC lawmakers consider voter registration bill

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) – A proposal that would change how South Carolinians register to vote is set for discussion Tuesday in a Statehouse committee.

Senate Bill 128 would require anyone registering to vote in South Carolina to provide satisfactory evidence of U.S. citizenship. Under the bill, a person could not be added to the voter rolls unless they submit approved documentation to their county voter registration board.
