SOUTH CAROLINA (WOLO)– School districts in the Midlands are announcing changes to their schedules Monday due to the winter weather.
Below is a list of the local school districts that have either canceled or switched to e-Learning Monday:
Kershaw Co. School District
- Kershaw County School District is canceling all weekend activities (Saturday and Sunday) and will shift to an eLearning Day for Monday, Jan. 26
Newberry Co. School District
- The School District of Newberry County says schools in the district will be on an eLearning schedule on Monday, Jan. 26
- Anyone who experiences power outages, communication disruptions, or other safety concerns should notify your child’s school or teachers when it is safe to do so.
- Other school districts say they’re monitoring the forecasts and will make announcements of any schedule changes.
Lexington Co. School District 3
- All schools in the district will be moving to an eLearning day on Monday, Jan. 26.
- Schools will be sending students home with meals on Friday, Jan. 23, so parents should check their book bags.
- All Saturday, Jan. 24, and Monday, Jan. 26, extracurricular activities/after-school activities are cancelled.
School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties
- All schools and offices in School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties will transition to e-Learning on Monday, Jan. 26.
- All after school childcare programs and extracurricular events are canceled Saturday through Monday.
- The Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, is also canceled.
- High school late start on Wednesday, Jan. 28, and Elementary/Intermediate early release on Thursday, Jan. 29, are also canceled.
Lexington School District Two
- Over the weekend, all district facilities will close by 3 p.m. Saturday and remain closed through Sunday.
- All schools will be on e-learning Monday
Fairfield Co. School District
- Fairfield County School District will hold an e-Learning Day on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, for all students and staff.
- All schools and district offices will be closed.
Richland County School District One
- Due to the forecast for severe weather, all Richland One schools and administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan 26.
- All afterschool programs, activities, and events that were scheduled for Monday, including athletics games and practices, are canceled.
- Athletics events and other activities that were scheduled for after 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 are also canceled.
- Monday will not be an e-Learning day due to possible power outages and resulting connectivity issues.
Orangeburg Co. School District
- Orangeburg Co. Schools will observe a two hour delay Monday
Lexington Co. School District One
- All schools and district offices will be closed and all after-school activities are canceled.
Lexington Co. School District Four
- Schools will move to e-learning for Monday
