(WACH) — Warming shelters across South Carolina’s Midlands are opening ahead of an expected snowstorm this weekend.
Much of the region could see at least 2 inches of snow, with totals of 5 to 8 inches possible in northern areas and around 4 to 7 inches expected in Columbia and Lexington.

Orangeburg County
- City Gym, 410 Broughton Street — Open from 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2; hours may be extended depending on conditions.
Service animals are permitted; other pets are not allowed. Non-service animals may be taken to Orangeburg County Animal Control, 1596 Ellis Ave., for care during this period.…
