(WPDE) — As temperatures are expected to drop Sunday night, the Governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, urged residents to reduce their energy consumption to prevent blackouts.
Extremely cold temperatures in the single digits and teens Monday morning will strain South Carolina’s electric power grid between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m.
“In the morning, if large numbers of customers crank up the heat too quickly, or run their washing machines, clothes dryers, and dishwashers at the same time, the power companies may not be able to keep up with the sudden demand for power,” he explained…
