South Carolina hospital system orders mandatory mask policy due to measles outbreak

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – South Carolina has the nation’s largest measles outbreak, and one hospital system is taking additional steps to protect patients, visitors and staff as cases continue to rise across the Upstate.

Officials say the outbreak has climbed to a total of 876 cases in the Upstate alone. Due to the growing number, Prisma Health says new safety measures will be implemented in response to the rapid spread of the virus.
