GILBERT, S.C. – Federal authorities have confirmed a deadly plane crash in Lexington County Friday.
The Federal Aviation Administration said a Cirrus SR-22 crashed at around 9:50 a.m. The FAA also said two people were on board, but provided no further information on their condition.
a body, believed to be 27-year-old Nathan Smith, was found at Mayfield Park with the help of a dive team from the Cherokee County Fire Department.
The Lexington County Fire Service later clarified that the crash happened in the Gilbert area. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher also confirmed that one of the two people inside the plane died as a result of the crash…
