Chief: Second fire in 10 days at Columbia-area apartment complex deemed ‘suspicious’

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Crews responded early Wednesday to the second fire at a Columbia-area apartment complex in the past 10 days.

Chief Aubrey Jenkins with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department told WIS that the fire happened at around 6 a.m. at Bent Tree Apartments, located in the St. Andrews area. Jenkins said the complex’s leasing office was damaged in the blaze.

The chief added that the office was closed at the time. No injuries were reported…
