COLUMBIA, S.C. — A third earthquake has been confirmed near Lake Murray in Irmo, the third tremor to strike that area since the end of last week.
The U.S. Geological Survey confirms a 1.8 earthquake struck around 6:44 p.m. on Monday, February 16. It was about 3.1 miles west-southwest of Irmo. The USGS map shows the lake actually occurred underneath the waters of the lake.
