RCSD: Homicide victim on I-20 believed to have been shot

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A homicide investigation continued Monday after one person was found dead on Interstate 20.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said it was notified that the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a crash on the interstate at around 2 a.m. RCSD said it was requested after evidence was found showing that the victim may have been shot.

Authorities said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The resulting response shut down part of the interstate, which was later reopened.

Investigators say they are still working to determine exactly where the shooting occurred and what led up to it…
