BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. — The Town of Blythewood is considering annexing the 29016 zip code into its town limits, a move that could significantly expand its size and population.
According to the Richland County Geographic Information System, the 29016 zip code covers an estimated 86.1 square miles. If annexed, the area would add approximately 30,000 residents to Blythewood.
The discussion began at 6 p.m. Monday, giving town council members the opportunity to vote on whether to invest in research related to the proposed annexation.
