First Alert Headlines.

  • Breezy and mild with more cloud cover today.
  • First Alert Weather Days Thursday and Friday for heavy rain potential.
  • Drying out for the upcoming weekend!

First Alert Summary

Good morning! Throughout the night, cloud cover has increased ahead of a cold front that drops in Thursday. Although our sky will stay mostly cloudy, a southwest wind will allow for temperatures to climb quickly. This afternoon, highs reach the low and mid-60s.

Thanks to this approaching cold front, winds are going to pick up today. At times, we’ll have gusts of 20 to 30 MPH. Because of this, a Lake Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service until 7 PM.

Thursday and into Friday, our next cold front arrives, bringing with it rounds of rain. At times, the rain that falls will be heavy, prompting First Alert Weather Days Thursday and Friday.

With this boundary slowly drifting across the Midlands, there’s a low chance of flooding if the same areas were to receive rounds of heavy rain.

Given our drought situation across South Carolina, this rain is much-needed.

As this system moves offshore Saturday, a stray shower is possible in the early morning. By the afternoon, our sky will begin to clear. From there, the rest of the weekend will be nice! High temperatures Sunday will climb into the 70s.
