COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland County Coroner has identified the man found dead inside a burning truck along Interstate 20 in Columbia Monday.
Coroner Naida Rutherford said Wednesday the man has been identified as 32-year-old James W. Smith of Bishopville. The cause of death was not given but it has been ruled a homicide. Richland County deputies had said earlier they believe the man had been shot.
