South Carolina State University posts job opening for chief of campus police

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina State University (SC State) is looking to hire a new chief of campus police. According to SC State’s website, the full-time position was posted Feb. 19.

The university will accept applications through June 30.

The job posting, which indicates a bachelor’s degree is required, says the position “…offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of our vibrant campus community.”

ABC Columbia contacted SC State about the status of the current chief, Richard Johnson, but officials said they cannot comment on personnel matters…
