If you need to do some home repairs or lawn work, you’ll soon have a new spot for the gear you’ll need in a busy area near northeast Columbia.
Ace Hardware, which has locations across the U.S., will have a new store at Spears Creek Church Road and Two Notch Road in Elgin. It will be next door to the new Food Lion supermarket that opened in January at 10508 Two Notch Road in the Pontiac Towne Center development.
An opening date for the Ace store has not been publicly announced, but construction on the building was well underway when a reporter rode by this week. There is a large red banner at the property that says the Ace is “coming soon.”…
