Columbia VA begins major infrastructure upgrades across Dorn campus

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Columbia VA Health Care System has announced the start of multiple infrastructure modernization projects aimed at improving patient safety and expanding clinical capabilities for Veterans across South Carolina.

Officials said the upgrades are part of a record $4.8 billion in nationwide Department of Veterans Affairs spending during fiscal year 2026 to modernize, repair and improve health care facilities through the Veterans Health Administration’s Non-Recurring Maintenance program.

Improvement projects underway during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 at the Columbia VA include a full fleet replacement of infusion pumps completed in January 2026, Electronic Health Record Management infrastructure upgrades, gamma camera replacements and a hemodynamics system replacement…
