COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — Gov. Henry McMaster on Tuesday referenced Iran while marking the signing of the Declaration of Independence, contrasting American self-government with countries where, he said, people do not rule themselves.
Speaking during a ceremony at the South Carolina State House, McMaster said the Declaration established the United States as a nation governed by its citizens rather than a king.
