Two 15-year-olds arrested for pointing and presenting replica of 9mm weapon

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — On Monday, March 2, 2026, around 4:30pm, Richland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a school bus stop in the Hallbrook Drive area in reference to two males wearing ski masks presenting a firearm. That location is just off Caughman Road, in the Hazelwood Acres neighborhood in lower Richland County.

Deputies quickly located the two suspects and, upon making their presence known, both suspects then fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, deputies detained both suspects without further incident. RCSD K9 units responded to the scene to track for the firearm that was presented by the suspects. A K9 unit located the firearm and it was at that time deputies discovered the firearm was a BB gun replica of a “Glock 17 Gen 5” 9mm firearm.

Both suspects, each 15-years-old, were charged with Pointing and Presenting and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ)…
