Grandfather faces charges after allegedly shooting grandson during argument

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS/Gray News) – A South Carolina grandfather is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot his grandson during an argument.

Larry Brown, 79, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime after he allegedly shot and injured his grandson, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities say Brown’s charges were linked to a reported shooting that happened at his home around noon Tuesday. Deputies who responded to the scene found the suspect’s grandson with a gunshot wound to the hip. He was taken to the hospital, where he received care for his injury.
