WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — The West Columbia Police Department is alerting residents to temporary disruptions as improvement work gets underway at a popular public parking lot in the River District.
Crews began work Tuesday, March 24, at the parking lot located at 420 Meeting Street. The project includes seal coating, restriping, and pothole repairs aimed at enhancing safety and usability for visitors.
Construction is being completed in phases. Work started in “Area A” and will shift to “Area B” in the coming days. Officials say that once crews move into Area B, the entire parking lot will be closed for approximately three to four days, with the full closure expected to begin over the weekend.
During the project, drivers may experience limited access to portions of the lot. When the lot is fully closed, visitors are encouraged to use nearby free parking options throughout the River District…
