Richland County high-density housing plan withdrawn amid resident concerns

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. — A proposed high-density housing rezoning in Richland County near Blythewood has been withdrawn after residents raised concerns about how the development could affect their community.

According to county documents, the request would have allowed up to 150 housing units on roughly 7.5 acres of land near the intersection of Kelly Mill Road and Hard Scrabble Road. The application was pulled before it reached the Richland County zoning public hearing on April 28.
