‘Unified outcry:’ SC Department of Education blocks Marlboro superintendent hire

MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) weighed in on the Marlboro County School Board’s selection for its new superintendent.

In a letter to the district’s school board chairman, Michael Coachman, State Education Superintendent said SCDE “has determined that the current search process cannot be approved as conducted and no contract may be issued.”
