Columbia, S.C. (WACH) — Two people were still recovering Tuesday after a small explosion at a Midlands gas station that deputies say stemmed from a road rage incident.
According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened Sunday afternoon when a woman allegedly fleeing another driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed into gas pumps at a station on Hard Scrabble Road.
“She was coming from the direction of Summit Parkway on Hard Scrabble, coming inbound,” Richland County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Bryce Hughes said. “She, at some point, lost control when she was kind of going at a high rate of speed during this road rage incident, and she kind of went over this embankment that you see here at the edge of the property, and she continued on until she hit the gas pump itself at number nine and number 10 down here.”…
